

Edith Mackey Frazer, born August 9, 1921, a native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge, died in her home on June 19, 2015. Services will be at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, Tuesday, June 23, 2015, with visitation at 1:00 pm until Episcopal services commence at 2:00 pm. An entombment at Greenoaks Memorial will follow. Edith is survived by her daughter-in-law Lynnette Frazer of Baton Rouge, her sister Dorothy Mackey Otis of Covington, her three grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn and Rachel Frazer of Baton Rouge, Mark and Sloane Frazer of Marietta, Georgia and Ashley Frazer Sides and Brett Sides of Baton Rouge and her eight great-grandchildren, John Sides, Caroline Sides, Jackson Sides, Grant Sides, Emily Frazer, Julia Frazer, Ashton Frazer, Reid Frazer, and her sister in law, Chris Frazer. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge at the time of its founding and a member until her death. Edith was a resident of Algiers, Louisiana from birth until 1955 and her families were Algiers Point residents and members of Mount Olivet Episcopal Church for several generations. She lived in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, San Antonio and Dallas before moving to Baton Rouge at retirement to be near her son and grandchildren. Edith was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she will be greatly missed. Her passions included gardening, bridge, spending time with her family, and caring for her dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Frazer, her son, Thomas Lee Frazer, her father Alexander Octave Mackey, her mother, Blanche Vallette Mackey, her sister, Mildred Mackey Martin, her brother, Thomas O. Mackey, and her brother in law, August Gaspard Frazer. The family greatly appreciates the help and care given to her by her caregivers, Juanita, Millie, and Antoinette.
