Born July 3, 1912, in Varnado, she passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Sherwood Manor Nursing Home at age 94. She was a retired school teacher with the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and the wife of the late Rev. Roy Norton. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Dec. 11, after 9 a.m.until religious service at 11 a.m.Graveside service atForestLawnMemorial Park, Pineville, at 3:30 p.m.Monday. Mrs. Norton is survived by a sister, Odell Henry; brother, Winston Rester; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jewel Rester; and sisters, Dolly Bergeron, Thera Austin, Alta Walker, Bernice Causey and Aliwee Ray.
