

"A native of Abbeville, LA, and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Edward S. Landry, Jr., passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at age 75. Visitation will be at St. George Catholic Church, located at 7808 St. George Drive, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 12:00 Noon, until a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow in St. George Mausoleum. Born on June 14, 1941, Edward was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Edward worked for Louisiana Public Broadcasting, retiring as a Production Manager in 2004, after nearly 30 years of service. Edward's passions included vintage cars, trains, and LSU sports. Edward also greatly enjoyed visiting with his friends and family. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. Landry, Sr. and Esther R. Landry, and his wife, Ann C. Landry. Survivors include his sister, Alva Landry Matthews and her husband John, niece Mollie Matthews Broussard and her husband Kevin, and their son Grant. Edward also had a very special place in his heart for the family of his wife, Ann, especially her grandson Jonathan Dean, niece Ruth Carter Wilson, great-nephews Travis Stephen Wilson and Kyle Edward Wilson, and great-niece Kathryn Ann Wilson. The family would like to thank the staff at Amber Terrace for their compassionate care, and especially to Chris Coleman for his time, attention, and friendship to Edward. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward's name to Louisiana Public Broadcasting.
