

"Eileen Mann Cannon, a native of Oklahoma but long-time Baton Rouge resident, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. Born in McAlester, Oklahoma 12/17/1930. Married to the love of her life, Joe F. Cannon, October 8, 1947 in McAlester, later moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma and starting their family. The Cannons, with two daughters, moved to Baton Rouge in 1968. She had been well-known in arts and craft circles having been co-owner of The Dark Horse gift and craft business for over 25 years. Eileen was most involved with teaching tole painting for many years. Partners in the Dark Horse and longtime personal friends were Sue Werner, now deceased, and Beverly Goodrum. A member of Broadmoor Baptist Church since 1968, she did volunteer work with SouthEast Ministries and BraveHeart. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe F. Cannon and her oldest daughter, Teresa Jo. Survived by daughter, Tracey C. Hodges of Baton Rouge and grandson, Jeremy Mosley, his wife Marliese and grandchildren Jesse, Skyylar and Kenzie who live in the Kansas City Missouri area. Also survived by sisters, Frances Mann and Doris Morrison. A memorial service will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church, located at 9755 Goodwood Blvd, Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church.
