
Elaine Patricia Causey, 61, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Regency Place Nursing Home. She was born May 25, 1948, in New Orleans and adopted by loving, caring parents, Dorcas and Ardee Causey, who preceded her in death. Her brother, Keith Causey, also preceded her in death. Survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara E. Causey, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two nieces, Deborah Causey Hunter and Esther Causey. Aunts and uncles who made important contributions to her life are Nadie Barret and Enid Powell, both of Jena, Pearl Sapp, of Savannah, Ga., William Barret, of El Dorado, Ark., and David Barret, of Lafayette. Also survived by cousins, Marion and Patsy Causey, Gloriadel and Jim Carnell, and Jacquelyn and Douglas Valentine. Pallbearers will be cousins James L. Carnell III, Carl Causey, Mark Dugas, Donnie Guedry, Paul Powell, Bradley Valentine and Douglas Valentine. Special thanks to Christine Causey, who cared for her on a regular basis; Marion and Patsy Causey who met her needs after the death of her father; ministers, Dr. Jerry Barlow and Dr. Ferris Jordan; and friends, Joy and Bill Cox and Nell and Carl Meriwether who visited her on a regular basis. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church and Istrouma Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the libraries at these churches.
