A native of Augusta, AR and resident of Greenwell Springs, Ruth died in Houston, TX on Monday, January 11, 2016. She was 92. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Saturday, January 16, from noon until religious services at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Susie H. Thomas. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by a daughter, Martha W. Hacker and husband Simon of Fairfax, VA; son, Bob Wood and wife Julie of Houston, TX; and grandchildren, Rebecca Wood of San Francisco, CA, Alison Johnson and husband Brent of Houston, Jeffrey Wood of Houston, Kathryn Wood of Houston, Daniel Hacker of Larchmont, NY and David Hacker and wife Rity Upadhyaya of Evanston, IL. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wood. She was a long time member of Magnolia United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Magnolia United Methodist Church.
