

Elizabeth B. Amrhein Foil Deselms, affectionately known as Koochie, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on March 16, 1932, in Baton Rouge, LA, Elizabeth grew up on Prescott Lane. She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1950 and married her childhood sweetheart, Tommy L. Foil. After he joined the United States Air Force they spent twenty years moving around the states building lifelong friendships and creating a loving home for their family. Elizabeth became the devoted housewife of a serviceman, often holding down the fort while Tommy served overseas. Together, they raised two children: Jennie Lou and Tommy Allan.
In 1971, after Tommy retired, the family returned to Louisiana and settled in Prairieville. Elizabeth worked for twenty years at LNB.
After Tommy's passing, Elizabeth reconnected with an old Air Force friend, Col. Ray Deselms. Though their marriage was short, it was filled with travel and companionship. They became active members of Meadows Chapel UMC in Prairieville, a small church abundant in faith, love, and support.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Jennie Hedger (husband Michael), her son Tommy A. Foil (wife Jamie), and her granddaughters Cameron Foil Triche (husband Ethan) and Carley Jewel Foil. She is also survived by her nephews Charles Amrhein and John Amrhein (wife Nikola). She was preceded in death by her husband’s Tommy L. Foil and Col. Ray Deselms, her parents Herman F. Amrhein and Jennie Wilkins, and her brother Adrien Amrhein.
Elizabeth's legacy of love, resilience, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many communities she touched throughout her remarkable life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Monday July 15th, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home the evening before, Sunday July 14th 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again Monday morning from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will immediately follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
