Ellen Mae Keith Dupree

Ellen Mae Keith DupreeA native of Bayou Blue, LA and a longtime resident of both Plaquemine and Baton Rouge, she went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 88.  She was born to Jack Allen Keith, Sr. and Charlotte Mary (Lottie Mae) Rinehart Keith in Bayou Blue and lived there until she married and began to raise her own family in Plaquemine.  In later years, she and her husband moved to Baton Rouge.  Ellen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church.She is survived by many for whom she showed unconditional love; a brother Norman Steven Keith (wife Myrtis) of Baker; her children, Mark Wayne Dupree (wife Jean) of Baton Rouge, Amanda Lynn Dupree Lewis (husband Burt) of Plaquemine; Jack Price Dupree (wife Teresa) of Biloxi, MS, and Lanis Odel Dupree (companion Darolyn) of Port Allen; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; many other family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends are also left with treasured memories of the time they spent with Ellen.She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Andrew Dupree; her parents Jack and Charlotte Keith; brothers, Jack Allen Keith, Jr.; David Dempsey Keith; Henry Lee Keith; Nolan Eugene Keith; a sister, Amelia Mary (Chute) Keith Alleman; and a grandson Brandon Paul Dupree.Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM officiated by Reverend Ron Lamb.  Burial will follow next to her beloved husband at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Plaquemine.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the 5th floor nursing staff, ICU nurses, and the doctors at OLOLRMC who showed such care and concern for Ellen and her family.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorial contributions to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.Words of comfort to the family atwww.rabenhorst.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.rabenhorst.com">www.rabenhorst.com.
