

September 11, 1941 – January 24, 2019
Sonny Hartman, age 77, who was born in Raceland, LA and a long time resident of Prairieville, LA., passed away on January 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He is a graduate of the Louisiana School of the Deaf in Baton Rouge, class of 1960. After high school, for the next 46 years, he was a core maker for Pearce Foundry. He never met a stranger and touched the lives of many. He was an avid sports fan and cheered the loudest for the Tigers, Saints, Astros, and his grandchildren. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda McCon Hartman: one son and daughter in law, Joel and Debbie Hartman, one daughter and son in law, Nancy and Kurt Malbrough; three granddaughters, Joleigh and Jordan Hartman and Brittany Ragusa; and two grandsons, Kori and Kameron Malbrough: two sisters, Sherilyn Macaluso (Angelio) and Kathy Thibodaux (Jeff); and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; Houston J. and Canilla H. Hartman, and sister Cynthia A. Bonaventure. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Jan 28, from 9 A.M to 12 P.M. and memorial service to follow. Pall bears will be his nephews: Jeff, Kevin, Jason, and Brad Bonaventure; Sonny and Randy Macaulso and Michael Thibodaux; and also his godchild Chad Pitre. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center and St. Joseph Carpenter House.
