Emily Wax Patterson

Emily Elizabeth Wax Patterson loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 82 of Baker, LA then lastly Gonzales, LA, passed away on January 11, 2026. Born in 1943 in Baton Rouge, LA, to Willie Wax and Selma Brown. Emily dedicated her life to first her lord and church, her adored husband, her son, and her grandson. She graduated from Denham Springs High School in 1961. Emily worked for the Secretary of State and later moved to the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development. She loved her job and her extended family at the DOTD. She embraced her faith and love of family with an unconditional love. Emily married the absolute love of her life Robert Wayne “Bob” Patterson Sr., on October 20, 1961. Together they built a home filled with love and support. Emily is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” (Illa) Patterson Jr; grandson, Zack; step-granddaughter, Tiffany (Todd) Rowell; and step great grandchildren, Nathalie and Kyla (Sebastian); and countless family and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wayne “Bob” Patterson Sr; brother, Ted Wax Sr; and her parents. Her legacy is one of unwavering faith, kindness, resilience, and enduring love of faith, family, and friends. A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory East, located at 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70815, on January 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at Lusk Cemetery, Weber City Rd, Gonzales, LA, 70737, on January 16, 2026, at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Catholic Charities or to animal rescue league of your choice.
