

As a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, retired employee of Baton Rouge City Police Department, Emma was known by all to be a hard worker and devoted loving Christian lady.
Emma Dean raised her four children with love and devotion with her husband who preceded her in death, Joseph E. Martinez, Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Henry J. Martinez and Joseph E. Martinez, Jr. Emma’s two daughters, Margaret Ann Martinez Watson Lombardo and Barbara Jean Martinez Klein Schiro Rush also preceded her in death.
Emma Dean is also survived by sisters Mittie Daughtry, Charline Templet, Pauline Sullivan, Debra Landry and brothers Paul Smith, Sam Smith, and Eddie Earl Smith. She is preceded in death by the passing of one sister and three brothers. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home – from 10:00 am to 10:30 am for a private family time and then 10:30 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2021. Religious service will begin immediately following conducted by the Rev. Huey Moak. An outdoor interment will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be the grandsons: Jason, Joel, Chad, Chris, Nick and Kevin. Honorary pallbearers will be John Lestelle and Vonley Daughtry.
