He was retired in sales, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Bush. He died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs at age 91. Erval was an Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater and North Africa. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes Saturday from 9 a.m. until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. T.W. Terral. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his sons, Gene Jenkins and wife Lynne, Wayne Jenkins and wife Martha, Barry Jenkins and wife Deborah, and Randy Jenkins and wife Debe; sister, Elsie Stephenson; brothers, Cleatus Jenkins and Ed Jenkins; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Christina Jenkins; brother, Ellis Jenkins; sister, Ava Mizell; and parents, Alonzo and Josephine Jenkins. Pallbearers will be Gene, Wayne, Barry, Randy, Scott, Garic, Joel and Nathan Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are Ed and Cleatus Jenkins.
