
She died at 8:32 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Baton Rouge. She was 88 and a native of McComb, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lee Hinton, who was of Baton Rouge; her sister, Essie Kepper Gatlin, who was of Gautier, Miss.; her brothers, Charles L. Kepper, who was of Escatawpa, Miss., and Carl Kepper, who was of Mississippi; two granddaughters, Shawn Leigh Richards and Ashley Nicole Parent; her great-granddaughter, Tabathia Hernandez; and her great grandson, John Nathan Carmena. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Lee and Teddie Hinton, Central; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty and Bill Taylor, and Sandra and Jim Griscom, all of St. Amant, and Barbara Trisler, Central. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Plainelander Exxon Annuitants Club; a Past Worthy Matron of Fairfields Chapter 211 of the Order of Eastern Star; and Past Worthy Matron of Eunice Chapter 14 of the Order of Eastern Star. Visiting at Galilee Baptist Church, 11050 Greenwell Springs Port Hudson Road, Zachary, on Monday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. conducted by Brother Ron Lowery. Burial in Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Griscom, Jason Hinton, Jeremy Hinton, Frank Carmena Jr., Cody Carmena and Christopher Holden. Honorary pallbearer is Glen Richards.
