

DeCuir, Eunice Veronica Braud (Aunt Nunnie)Eunice Braud DeCuir died peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 8:30 a.m., with her husband and her daughter at her side. She was 88 years old.Eunice was a native on Convent, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, and a provider of child care for countless friends and family members. She was an excellent cook, whose kitchen was open to anyone at any time. She loved her family and friends to the fullest extent. In earlier years, she enjoyed gardening, especially cultivating and growing roses.A devout Catholic, she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She had a tremendous devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary, and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Rosary Group.Eunice is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Wilbert Warren DeCuir, Sr.; two daugthers, Cynthia Ann DeCuir and Deborah D. Moore (Willie, Sr.) of Baton Rouge; two sons, Wilbert Warren "Buck" DeCuir, Jr. (Georgia Holloway), and Gaston Joseph DeCuir (Maria) of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Willie J. Moore, Jr. (Shantel) and Wesley John Moore of Baton Rouge, and Warren Joseph DeCuir (Briana) of Chicago, IL; Jamal D. Willis of Eunice, LA; Ian J. DeCuir and Ivan J. DeCuir of Baton Rouge; three great-granddaughters, Jalynn Moore and Keegan Moore of Baton Rouge, and Madison DeCuir of Chicago, IL; three step great-granddaughters; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Braud and Joyce DeCuir Cook of Baton Rouge, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eola Duchan and Gaston Braud; sisters, Gladys B. Verrett, and Ione B. Key; and brothers, Wesley, Horace, and Jules Braud, Sr.Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM officiated by Fr. Miles J. Walsh. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM.
