Faye Courtade Chaney

Faye Courtade Chaney, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the age of 96. Faye was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she was active in the Jenny Flemming Circle and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a school bus driver for 18 years. Faye is preceded in death by her husband Wilson R. Chaney, Sr., her son, Frank W. Murphy and her stepdaughter Lazelle Chaney Lavergne. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Murphy and her husband Robert Poe and Trudy Chaney LeBlanc and her husband Jim Leblanc; also by her stepson Wilson R. Chaney, Jr. and his wife Marilyn Freeman Chaney as well as by her grandchildren Belinda Lavergne, Micah Chaney, Trey Chaney, Troy Chaney, Shannon Murphy, Chris Murphy, Aimee LeBlanc Casas, Jaime LeBlanc Hadley and Andrew Poe. Visitation will be at First Christian Church, 8484 Old Hammond Hwy., Baton Rouge, from 10:00 to 11:00 Monday morning, February 16, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 at First Christian Church.
