
Vic passed away on August 22, 2012 in Baton Rouge. He was born in White Castle on December 9, 1925. He was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, a retired banker who worked 35 ½ years for American Bank followed by 8 ½ years at Bank of the South. He was a devoted Catholic and charter parishioner of St. Louis King of France. He was a very active member of the Edgewater Kiwanis Club for many years. He was devoted to his family and was a fan of numerous LSU sports attending with at least one of his children each time. He was a longtime LSU football season ticket holder priding himself on never leaving a game early. Visitation will be at St. Louis King of France Church on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at noon celebrated by the Rev. Jack Nutter and assisted by Vic's nephew Deacon Randy Clement. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita Mae Marchal Vicknair. Also survived by his three sons and two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. J. Paul Vicknair of San Bernardino, CA, Eric Vicknair of Baton Rouge, John Vicknair of Weatherford, TX, Larita and Brian Moorhead of Houston, TX , and Rhonda and James Planchet of Hudson, OH; seven grandchildren, Lauren Vicknair, Scott Vicknair and his wife Hope of Baton Rouge, Bailie Moorhead, Elise, Jonathan, Janine, and Evan Planchet; one great grandchild, Scott Vicknair; four sisters, Corrine Deleo and Theresa Clement of White Castle, Dorothy Devillier of Baton Rouge, and Catherine Gueho of New Orleans; and two brothers, Pete Vicknair of Baton Rouge and Stanley Vicknair of Kenner. Preceded in death by his parents, V.C. and Edda Vicknair, brothers Herman and Francis Vicknair and sisters Cecile Bagala and Mathidle Smith. Pallbearers will be Anthony Vicknair, Roy Burns, Ralph Gueho, Denny Vicknair, Billy Kirkpatrick and Alex Gueho.
