Frances was born in St. Albans, Vermont to Louis and Frances Hanlon on October 31, 1930. She was known as “Mickey” by all her friends and family. She acquired the nickname due to her love of Mickey Mouse as a young child.
Mickey filled many different work roles over the years, but she was most passionate about her role as an interior designer, which she embarked on during her latter work years. Her motto was “Grow till you Go!” and she never stopped learning new things throughout her life.
Mickey was also passionate about gardening. She could not wait for the sunny days of Spring to come along so she could get outside and work in the yard. Her joy was always evident when tending to her garden. Above all, Mickey’s greatest joy came from her family, friends, and grandchildren.
Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Brooks, mother Frances Hanlon, father Louis Hanlon, brother Earnest Hanlon, and sister Sylvia Barton.
Mickey is survived by her son Lenny Culpepper and wife Dena, daughter Trish Osborne and husband Tim, daughter Kathy Anderson, son Paul Deforge, son David Deforge and wife Dianne, and her grandchildren: Emily Gaudet and husband Cody, Erin Greneaux and husband Nathan, Tobey Osborne and wife Michelle, Craig Culpepper, Randy Culpepper and husband Kevin, Laura Meeks and husband Josh, Erick Anderson, Ethan Anderson and wife Danielle, along with numerous great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held at Greenoaks Funeral Home where Mickey rests next to her husband Sam.
