
A true Southern gentleman and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Hospice of Baton Rouge. Nugent was a highly respected master carpenter, artisan and craftsman in Baton Rouge for 37 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and maintained an unfailing devotion to our heavenly Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, throughout his illness and trials. He was a devoted husband, nurturing father, loving brother and friend. His physical talents were surpassed only by his ingenuity and integrity. Nugent leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Lisa Smith Reese, and 12-year-old daughter, Emily Angelique Reese, who will eternally be his little "love bug," as he affectionately called her. Also holding his memory dear to their hearts are his sisters, Delphine Reese, of Mandeville, and Penney Reese, of Atlanta; brothers, Willard Reese, of Navarre, Fla., Peter Reese, of Memphis, Tenn., and Joseph Reese, of Slidell; nieces, Adele MacNab, Taylor Reese, Piper Waldron and Cambria Gallo; and nephews, Christopher MacNab, Joseph Reese and Andrew Waldron; sisters-in-law, Barbara Reese, Sharon Reese, Leigh Ann Reese, Karen Gallo and Michelle Waldron; brothers-in-law, Kevin Smith, Christopher Smith, Robert Smith, Jon Waldron and Mark Gallo; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Louis J. Smith. Nugent was preceded in death by his parents, Angelique Provosty Reese and Willard Ellsworth Reese; and sister, Adele LeDoux Reese. Pallbearers will be Willard Reese, Peter Reese, Joseph Reese, Christopher MacNab, Dwain Sutherland and B.J. McGibney. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Prudhomme and Scout McAndrew. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Hospice of Baton Rouge for the genuine support, compassion and dedication they gave our beloved Nugent. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Hospice of Baton Rouge, designated to the Butterfly Wing in memory of Nugent Reese, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3475 N. Sherwood Forest Drive, on Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
