Frank Malesic passed away on November 3, 2015. He was born on January 17, 1930, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the fifth and youngest son of Johanna&Anton Malesic, both immigrants of Slovenia. After high school, Frank joined the Army and served during the Korean Conflict as a Staff Sergeant. Returning to Fort Benning, Georgia, he met the love of his life, Celeste Howard Malesic. They were married for 59½ years before she passed away from complications of diabetes. Mr. Malesic worked his entire career as a salesman of men's clothing, or a "ragman" as he liked to refer to himself. Starting his career at Schwobilt's Men's Clothing in Columbus, Georgia, the family was eventually transferred to Baton Rouge in 1960. There he worked for Stein's Men's Clothing as a regional manager, then Godchaux's/Maison Blanche before finishing his career at Dillard's. He loved sales and entertaining family and friends with the trials and tribulations of being a salesman. He also loved golf and was particularly proud of his hole-in-one in 1984. In addition, he was very proud of his roses and fruit trees. A graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 1:30 pm, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East. Graveside Service will be conducted by Deacon Louis McGinnis. Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Anton&Johanna Malesic; his brothers: Anthony, Rudy and William Malesic, all of Pennsylvania. His is survived by his brother: Joseph Malesic of Harrisburg, Pa. His wife, Celeste Howard Malesic passed away in 2011, but the tragedy of their lives was the passing of their daughter, Karen Anne Malesic Richardson, in 2005 from breast cancer. Frank left behind his daughter: Denise Malesic; and his grandson: Kevin Richardson; and many nieces, nephews and their families. The family would like to thank the Staff of Heritage Manor Nursing Home for their kind and generous care of Frank during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
