

Frank Anthony Marchiafava Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He was born on Aug. 11, 1925. He attended Catholic High School of Baton Rouge and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. Frank was the owner and operator of State Cleaners for 52 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3298 and an usher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Most importantly, Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eula Mae Stevens Marchiafava; daughter, Marion Domma and companion J. Patrick Miller; daughter-in-law, Anna Graffeo Marchiafava; granddaughters, Gina Domma Caro and husband Ricky Caro, Toni Domma Jones and husband Todd Jones, and Michelle Marchiafava; grandsons, Todd Domma and wife Crissy LeHaye Domma, and Frank Marchiafava III; great-grandchildren, Emily, Lauren and Mallory Caro, Kirstyn and Cooper Jones and Natalie and Tessa Marchiafava; and great-great-grandchild, Cayden Jones. Also survived by his sister, Lee Sheridan. Frank was preceded in death by a son, Frank "Bo" Marchiafava Jr.; parents, Tina and Santo Marchiafava; brothers, Ross and Charlie Marchiafava and Tony, Joe and Johnny Maggio; and sisters, Anne Paris, Mary Alu, Theresa Masci, Grace Fero and Lucy Kleibert. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Monday, July 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Tuesday, July 6, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Vic Messina, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Anthony Ferro, Allen Kleibert, Johnny Maggio, Phillip Marchiafava, Grover Stephens, Paul Stephens, Ronnie Stewart and John Ventola. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and great-grandson. The family would like to express a special thank you to his dear friends, Grover and Marilyn Stephens, for their care and compassion and his dedicated physicians, Dr. Roy Kadair and Dr. Michael McCarthy.
