Frank J. Vendt, Sr., lovingly known as “Pawpaw”, passed away on April 30, 2022 at the age of 68. He was born to Alfred, Sr. and Edith Munn Vendt on July 7, 1953 and was raised in Central, Louisiana. Frank attended Central High School where he met his wife of fifty years, Donna Chenevert Vendt. After high school, Frank went on to graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Industrial Management, where he was an offensive lineman on the football team. Frank had many joys in life. Among them were hunting, fishing, perpetual adoration at his church, and the men and women he worked with before his retirement from ShinTech as Superintendent of Material and Handling. Prior to his work at ShinTech, he retired from Georgia Gulf as a Shipping Supervisor. The thing that lit up Frank’s life more than anything was his family. He was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, for whom he was so proud and brought him much joy. To Frank, raising his family was his greatest achievement, and to his family, Frank was the greatest.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Denham Springs; his children, Hope Dupuy and her husband, Adam, of Thiboduax, Frank Vendt, Jr. and his wife, Shannon, of Fulshear, TX, Lauren Nathanson and her husband, Matt, of Nashiville, TN; his grandchildren, Adam Dupuy, Jr., Daniel Dupuy, Preston Vendt, Faith Vendt, Will Nathanson, and Wade Nathanson; two brothers, Alfred, Jr. (Georgina) and Ronald Vendt (Carolyn); one sister, Kimon Woosley; sister-in-law, Vicki Brown (Paul); brother-in-law, Harold P. Chenevert, Jr. (Sonya); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Isaac Nathanson.
