Gloria "June" Smiley Ford, 90, died Tuesday, Mar.29, 2017; at the The Crossing in Baton Rouge La. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Florida Blvd., on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Monday, April 3, from 8:30a.m. until funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m., led by Brother Brandon Bernard. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. June was born, Gloria June Smiley, on June. 29, 1926 in Frost, La. (Livingston Parish). June spent most of her life in Baton Rouge La. and Woodville Ms. She worked for the Louisiana Association of Educators for over 20 years. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, Stafford Wayne Ford; parents, Lorin C. and Myrtle Watts Smiley; two sisters, Helen Smiley Langlois, Sally Celeste Smiley Efferson and brothers, Edward A. Smiley and Lorin V. Smiley. She is survived by her son Gary Keith Ford, of Baton Rouge La.; three grandchildren, Kyle Keith Ford, of Watson, La.; Kristafor Adam Ford, of Baton Rouge, La. and Kelly Anne Ford Jarrell and husband Steven, of Central La.; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Briley Jarrell; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Mabel Edmunds for her friendship, dedication and years of service, as well as The Crossing of Baton Rouge for their kind comfort and assistance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
