Gayle Marie Chustz Allison, born November 29, 1941, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Gayle was the daughter of the late Harris J Chustz, Sr. and Marie “Nan” P. Chustz, and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Though she was small in stature, her presence was anything but-her voice, unwavering opinions, and bold spirit radiated confidence. She celebrated 61 years of marriage to her devoted husband, Sidney, on July 19, 2024. She was a proud mother of two daughters, Cathy and Cyndi, and Grammy to her five grandchildren and one great-grandson. They were truly the light of her life, and she loved sharing updates and photos for all to see.
Always sticking to the schedule, Gayle remained a consistent weekly patron at her hair salon, nail salon, and Brew-bachers. Even though her health had many challenges these last few years, she was always dressed to the nines and never went a day without putting on her makeup. Her clean house was always a source of great pride.
Gayle is survived by her loving family, husband, Sidney J. Allison; her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Rob Gough, Cyndi and Barry Breau; her grandchildren, Michael Sonnier (Tori), Loren Gough Enloe (Tyler), Kodiak Gough (Dakota), Brandon Breau, Hallie Breau (fiancé Bryant); one great-grandson, Owen Enloe; brother, Harris “Bubba” J Chustz, Jr.(Leta); niece, Nancy Norwood (Tyler) and family; and special cousins, Bonnie Braud, Sybil Boudreaux, and Rosaline Parks.
The family would like to thank Always Best Care Senior Services for their consistent efforts in providing daily caregivers. There were several who truly made a difference, and we are thankful for them.
A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 10 am until funeral services at 11:30 am. A private burial will be held following services. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your local animal shelter/rescue.
