Retired owner of Perry's TV Service, he died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 73, a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., and resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel on Friday, July 23, from noon until memorial service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerald Burns. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne "Suzie" Vicknair Perry; daughter, Bridget Perry Carrier and husband Dale; a sister, Barbara Perry LaGrange; two stepsons, Stephen Laurent and wife Sharon, and Richard Laurent; and three grandchildren, Amber Carrier, Dawn Carrier and Simone Laurent. Preceded in death by his father, Alfred Perry Sr.; mother, Theresa Bowman; son, Gerald L. Perry Jr.; and stepfather, George Bowman. He was a member of the Early Birds AA group. Mr. Perry was active in service to his community by contributing his time and labor to various nonprofit groups.
