A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008. She was 82 and a native of Opelousas. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Aug. 6, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Religious service at St. Isidore Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Fred Youngs. Survived by her beloved husband, Albert E. "Gene" Humphreys Jr.; loving daughter, Geri Ann King and husband Bill; two loving sons, Gene and wife Lois Humphreys and Chris and wife Monica Humphreys; six grandchildren, Jeremy and Rachel Humphreys, Christopher and Alex Humphreys and Brianna and Blaire Bauer; sister, Nadia G. Morris and husband Tom; and sister-in-law, Ginnie Goodloe. Preceded in death by her son, Matthew Lewis Humphreys; parents, Edwin and Geraldine Goodloe; and brother, Edwin H. Goodloe Jr. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Humphreys, Christopher Humphreys, Richard Edgerton, Michael Edgerton, Randy Goodloe and Dana Goodloe. Honorary pallbearers are Prentiss Dyess and Bob Lartigue. She was a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, an English and history teacher and an avid reader.
