

Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie “Mimi” Gary Bargas, and his children Gordon “Trey” Bargas, III (Valerie) and Dorothy “Dottie” Bargas Roesler (Greg) and four grandchildren Briggs, Anna-Marie, and Reed Bargas and Grant Roesler. Also surviving him are his brother Al Bargas (Carlisa), numerous nieces, nephews, and their spouses, as well as an extended Bargas family in Texas.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Gordon L. Bargas Sr., and Dorothy Holley Bargas and his youngest son Charles Wilton Bargas. Special thanks to his stepmother Adeline Kleinpeter Bargas, his two grandmothers Elise Holley and Lavinia Bargas and helpful friends J. Wyatt “Jimmy” Morris and Rolfe McCollister, Sr.
Gordon was a Navy Veteran serving four years from 1951-1953 including during Korea. He worked his way through LSU with help from the G.I. Bill and graduated with a BS degree in January of 1959. Gordon and Mimi owned and operated Ruby’s Restaurant together for 25 years and also owned and operated apartments in the LSU area for over 50 years.
Relatives and friends are invited for the visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. on November 28, 2025 beginning at 8:30AM until a Eulogy service beginning at 9:30AM.
