
After a courageous 18-month battle with lung cancer, on September 9, 2015, we lost our loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Gwen was born on October 28, 1952, and would have been 63 years old this year. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church and worked for the State Police from which she was due to retire in October of this year. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph Allen (JoJo) Heath, a son Kyle Joseph Heath and wife Angel Mader Heath, a daughter Amanda Marie Heath, her treasured grandchildren Madison, Hayden and Ashton Heath, and her beloved fur baby, Rowdy. She is also survived by sister Gayle Waggenspack Kimmitt and husband Terry, brother Terry A. and wife Vickie, sister in law Sandra Heath, nephews Christopher, Jonathan, and Ryan Kimmitt, Andy Waggenspack, and a niece, Andria Waggenspack Monceaux. Gwen is also survived by her honorary family members Mike and Connie Leonard, their daughter Brandi Leonard Thompson and her daughters Taylor, Caitlin, and Haleigh Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin J. and Violet Wiltz Waggenspack and in-laws Joseph O. and Fannie Heath.
