
Harold "Hank" Thompson passed peacefully on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at age 80. Hank was the Owner of Custom Heating and Air Conditioning (1968-1985) and later worked as a realtor with Reynolds, Sumrow&Scruggs Realty. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea. Hank was a graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge and of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Vickers Thompson; two sons, Ken and Bruce; daughters-in-law, Denise and Tara; and five grandchildren, Abby, Taylor, Kristin, Blair and Brett, whom he cherished very much. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Louis Thompson; mother, Metella Beckham Thompson; and sister, Joyce Thompson Bleyer. "Hank" was a very special man and will be missed by all. Special thanks to all his close friends and friends of Harrell Bourgeois Hunting Club who visited him and kept his spirits up during his illness. Also appreciation to Dr. Miletello, Dr. Hines and their staffs. Words cannot express our appreciation to the Hospice Foundation for their wonderful support, with a special heartfelt thanks to nurses Misty and Bob. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 4, was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Internment following at Hillcrest in Baker. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Baton Rouge or a favorite charity.
