

Harold Ray Wilson was born August 28, 1927 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a resident of Baton Rouge. He passed away Saturday March 9, 2013. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday March 13, 2013 from 9 a.m. till service time at 10 a.m. Interment will be private for family only. He graduated from North Little Rock High and Arkansas Tech University. While at Arkansas Tech he was a member of the "Wonder Boys" football and basketball teams and was All-Conference football Guard in 1945. He remained active in sports as a coach, basketball referee and golfer. His favorite hobbies were woodworking, beekeeping, boxing, tennis, football, basketball, classic westerns, bird watching and animals. He served in the U.S. Army occupying forces in Japan during WWII. He was a retired construction manager with CF industries. He was a devoted youth counselor and Sunday school teacher. Harold is survived by his children, Robert A. Wilson and wife Sharon Palmer Wilson; Nina Gail Wilson Villamil and husband Ignacio "Natch" Villamil; and Mary Carol Wilson; grandchildren, John Joseph Wilson and wife Renee Oneal Wilson, Amanda Armenio Mayne and husband Joshua Mayne, Robert Joseph Wilson and William Thomas Wilson; and beloved great-grandchild, Logan Patrick Wilson. He will be missed by his favorite dog, George. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Aileen Bishop Wilson, father, Thomas W. Wilson, mother, Hattie L. Bruce Wilson, and siblings, William Conway Wilson, Nina Bernice Wilson Plante and Vane Thomas Wilson.
