Hazel Price M. Gannaway died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Baton Rouge. She was 96, born in Hamburg, Miss., on Oct. 24, 1911, to Cora and Wilson Price. She was preceded in death by her siblings, J.W. Price, Ray Price, Mack Price, Velma P. Hall and Georgia P. McCully. She is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Elizabeth "Betty" Price Ewell, whom she thought of as her daughter. She also considered great-nieces, Hazel E. Randall and Burnie E. Ratcliff her granddaughters, and their children to be her great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Midway Cemetery, near Meadville, Miss., on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Mackey Price, Terry Price, Warren Ratcliff, Will Ratcliff, Trace Day and A.J. "Bud" Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be considered to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
