
Mrs. Helen "Boots" Leininger was entrusted to God's loving care Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011. She was a native of Watson and a resident of Port Allen. Helen attended LSU and was a former employee of West Baton Rouge Parish school system and a member of the West Baton Rouge Parish School Board, having served after her husband's death. Helen was born May 4, 1925, in Baker. She was the fifth of 10 children born to Eva Hill and Semuel Mixon. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. Visitation will take place Sunday, Aug. 28, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be visitation one hour prior to a celebration service at St. James Episcopal Church on Monday, Aug. 29, at noon, followed by internment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Eulogy will be given by the Rev. Troy Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred C. Leininger; parents and siblings, Ardell Stacey, Lila Abels, Carl Mixon and Murray Mixon. Helen is survived by two sons, Reldon Leininger, daughter-in-law Patricia, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Arvis Leininger, daughter-in-law Lelia, of Daphne, Ala.; three grandchildren, Erin Tracy (husband Damian), Michael Leininger (wife Dawn), and Benjamin Leininger; and three great-grandsons, Evan and Ryan Tracy and Davis Leininger. Pallbearers will be Michael Leininger, Benjamin Leininger, Damian Tracy, Len Marcotte, Jose Milano and F.G. LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearer is Mark Bourg. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Special thanks to her doctors, Dr. Patrick Stagg, Dr. J. Benton Dupont, Dr. Philip Padgett and Ginger Hughes of St. Joseph's Hospice.
