After beginning their family, they moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where Henry grew his career in carpentry. A fearless man with an eye for detail, Henry continued to build and remodel residential homes until his wife passed away in 2015. When asked about retirement, Henry stated that he would keep working for “his girls”- his pride and joy, granddaughters Nicole and Ashley Thibodeaux and Courtney Bolen.
In his spare time, Henry loved to fish. He also loved to travel with his wife Joyce, seeing much of the world in his lifetime.
Henry is survived by his two children, Becky Thibodeaux and Charles Bolen Sr., two stepchildren, Ray Beard and wife Suki, and Sandy Beard, three granddaughters, Nicole and Ashley Thibodeaux and Courtney Bolen, one grandson, Charles Bolen Jr. and wife Ashley, two great grandsons, Tyson and Tucker Bolen, and his sister, Christine Foster.
Henry is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Joyce Bolen, who he was excited to be reunited with in heaven, his sisters Alice Scoby and Dorothy “Dot” Bolen, and his brother, Richard Bolen.
Special thanks to his many caregivers: daughter Becky Thibodeaux and partner David Rhed, neighbors Monica and Jack DeNault, and Life Source Hospice.
