The Lord called upon his angels to bring her home. Ila Marie Chamberlain passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the age of 81. She was born in Tennessee on February 26, 1930, and eventually made her home here in Baton Rouge. She loved working in her flower beds, watching The Young and The Restless, country music, cooking for her family and spending precious time with her fifteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jackie Lee Chamberlain; daughter, JoAnn Chamberlain; brother, Frank “Bubba” Franklin; sister, Nell Kennedy; and daughter in laws, Jeanie Chamberlain Chaisson and Colleen Chamberlain. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Wilburn; sons, Michael Lynn Chamberlain and John Anthony Chamberlain; and daughter Nancy Carol Chamberlain. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday from 4pm until 9pm, and resume on Saturday from 12pm until service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
