Jack Edwin Gleason, Sr. who lived in Port Allen, Louisiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2024, after living an adventurous life of traveling, hiking and biking until he was 84 years old. Jack lived a life of integrity, compassion and faith. He touched lives of many with his wisdom and kindness, leaving behind a profound impact on family, friends and even strangers he came into contact with. He loved the Lord and ministering to people showing them the love of the Lord. His first adventure following high school was in the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Korean war. Following his terms of service, he earned a degree from Louisiana State University, a Master’s degree plus 30 hours. He was a retired educator who spent his career in the public school system not only teaching but encouraging the next generation. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Ann Martin Gleason, his father Thomas Gleason, his mother Lois Gammill, his adventurous son Michael Gleason (Carolyn Gleason) and step-son Rodney Dupuy. He is survived by his son Jack Gleason, Jr. (Beth Gleason), daughters Cindy Billings (Wendell Billings), Jamie Wilkerson (Aaron Wilkerson), step-daughter Stacey Dupuy Fussell (Doug Fussell), step-Sons, Andy Dupuy (Helen Dupuy), Steven Dupuy, Gregg Dupuy, 18 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers Nicholas Bogan, Kurt Amond, Zach Amond, Austin Fussell, Troy Fussell and Adam Dupuy. Services will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. on Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment immediately following services at Grace Memorial Park, 60455 Bayou Jacob Road, Plaquemine, LA.
