

Jackolyn W. Durrett, a beloved and kind-hearted soul, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was known for her faithful dedication to her community and family.
Born on September 25, 1937, in Meridian, Mississippi, Jackolyn pursued a Master Degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University (LSU). Her passion for helping others was evident in her career and her personal life.
Jackolyn was an avid reader and a member of several book clubs, where she shared her love for literature with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Her commitment to her faith was demonstrated through her active participation as a member of The First Methodist Church.
Jackolyn is survived by her children, Douglas (Suzie) Durrett of Zachary, Louisiana, and Suzanne (David) Mott of Roswell, Georgia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Whitney Strong, Mason Mott, and Sarah Mott, and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Bobby Walker and Mike Walker, and her life long friend Ann Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan James Walker and Hazel Walker; her husband, Joseph Durrett; and her newborn child, Phillip Durrett.
Jackolyn's life was a testament to her loving nature and her unwavering dedication to those she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home for a memorial visitation on Saturday, December 6, 2025 beginning at 10:00AM until the memorial service beginning at 12:00PM.
