

James St. Cyr Richard, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the age of 93. James honorably served in the Navy during WWII, primarily in the South Pacific. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and was an avid LSU fan for more than 50 years. He also enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home with the love of his life, Helen. He was a retired chemist with the Ethyl Corporation and Georgia Gulf. He was one of the initial members of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. James is survived by his children, retired Lt. Col. Jerrold A. Richard, USAF (Cathy), Michael W. Richard (Susan), Francis P. Richard (Lynne), Beverly Richard Leonard (Barry), Gloria Richard Jackson (Richard); daughter-in-law, Karen Angona Richard; grandchildren, Kimberly Richard Wilson (Kirk), Lyndsay Richard, Joneah Richard Johnson (Clint), Hayley Richard, Natalie Richard, Kyle Bishop (Sarah), Brock Bishop (Melissa), Todd Bishop, Rebecca Richard Pearce (Aaron), James Richard (Blair), Joey Leonard (Brittany), Alisha Leonard (Summer), Garret Jackson, Caitlin Jackson, Travis Jackson, Marcie Johnson (Kris), and Emily Richard; great-grandchildren, Katherine, Helen, Emma, Austin, Alexandra, John Adams, Nathaniel, Peyton, Corey, Dakota, Emma Kate, Emelia, Cullen, Caden, Evie, Michael, Matthew, Elliott, Reid, Demi Kate, and Jaxx; brother, Joseph Bernard “JB” Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Marmande Richard; son, John Emile Richard; his parents, Emile and Emily Richard; and 11 siblings. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
