

James Donald Shelton, Jr. “Don”, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Don owned and operated Baton Rouge Sewer Service for over 50 years and loved his many loyal customers. Don loved his family and friends, spending time on the river, frying fish and entertaining crowds. Listening to old country music was one of his favorite pastimes, along with reminiscing about the past. Don is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anne; daughters, Tammy Fillion (Perry), Sheila Stafford (Mark), Tracy McKinley (Richard), and Donna Callender (Brent); grandchildren, Lucas, Amber, Dustin, Sarah, Emily, Chad, Hilary, Holly, and Clint; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Hope Elmore (Glen), Paul Shelton (Velma), Cindy Cooper (Joe), Keith Shelton (Tracy), Velda Guidry, Mark Wakefield, and Jimmy Robertson; and a host of other loving family members. Don is preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Addison; parents, James D. Shelton, Sr. and Mamie Hanks; and siblings, Richard, Wayne and George Shelton, Barbara Howansky, Larry and Eddis Wakefield, and Linda Hooper. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm, and will resume at Greenoaks on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 12pm until the time of funeral services at 2pm.
