
A resident of the city of Central, James passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 70 and a native of Tate County, Miss. He was a retired owner of Bayou Cajun Pest Control, a family-owned business, which he operated with his sons. He was so loved and will be greatly missed by his heart broken family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vaunice Toney Tate; four children, Jackie LaFleur and husband Mark, Jeanie Murray and husband Billy, Jeff Tate and wife Terri and Jimbo Tate and wife Abby; and he was a very special "Pop" to his precious grandchildren, Jeremy, Jared and Justin LaFleur, Bailey and Maddie Murray, Kameron and Karson Tate and Patrick and Rylee Tate. James was the son of the late L.K. and Ruby Ward Tate. He is survived by three sisters, Theresa Watson, Joyce Cutrer and Beverly Cannon; and a brother, Avrie Tate. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Tate. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Friday, July 4, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 5, from 9 a.m. funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larrie Pike, Greenville, Tenn., the Rev. Carl Sullivan, Denham Springs, and the Rev. James Tomlinson, Baker. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway.
