Dr. James Whitehead passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, atBaton Rouge GeneralMedicalCenter. He was 85, a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of Jackson, Miss. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a practicing dentist in Baton Rougeuntil the time of his death. Survived by his wife, Lucille J. Whitehead; daughter, Beverly Hooper and husband Roger Blaze Hooper, Baton Rouge; brother, Jimmy Louis Whitehead, Pearl, Miss.; and two grandchildren, April Nicole and Matthew Blaze Hooper. He was a member of the American and Louisiana Dental Association.
