Jane Miyuki Imahara Wilson

Jane Wilson, age 90, peacefully passed away in Cary, NC, on Monday, July 1, 2024. She was born in Sacramento, CA, to the late James and Haruka Imahara, along with her nine siblings. Jane is survived by her husband, William; children, Patricia and Les; grandson, Grant; siblings, Flora, Lily, Walter, John, and June; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, May, Helen, Irene, and Philip. Jane taught at the Gilmer Wright, Winbourne, Greenbrier, and Shenandoah elementary schools over a 30 year career, embraced by many students. Jane was an incredibly dedicated teacher, as were many of her generation. After retirement, she tutored and indulged in two other passions, acquiring collectibles and spending time at their camp at Lake Rosemound. Jane and William eventually moved to North Carolina in pursuit of their grandson, and to also spend time with their children. A graveside service will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10am.
