

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father, Jasper Melilli, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He passed away peacefully at home. A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Jasper was born in Shreveport, LA, graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1943 and attended LSU and was a member of the Theta XI Fraternity. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Professionally he was a member of the Motel Hotel Brokers Association of America, serving its as president in 1971. He was a deacon for Central Assembly of God Church for many years. He also was a founding elder of Christian Life Fellowship, and served as the President of The Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship’s Baton Rouge Chapter. The contribution Jasper made to the Christian community will affect the lives of many for years to come. Jasper is survived by his mother, Josephine Melilli, wife, Elane Melilli, sons Al, Andy and Melvin and a daughter, Mindy Melilli. Grandchildren include Matthew, Julie Anna, Michael, Amanda, Danielle, James and Kalli Melilli, and great granddaughter, Isla Melilli. He is also survived by his brothers, Jere and David Melilli. Today he is enjoying spending time in heaven with his son Steve, who went to be with the Lord in 2002. The viewing will be held at on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Greenoaks Funeral Home at 9595 Florida Blvd. from 5 PM until 8 PM. It will resume on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 9 AM until funeral service at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
