
"Jesse Lee Alexander, Jr. (Lee) was born on April 15, 1929 in the oil boom town of Wink, Texas to Jesse Lee Alexander, Sr. and Fannie Mae Steele Alexander. He grew up in Houston, TX where he graduated from Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. He attended the University of Texas in Austin, TX, and graduated from the University of Houston in Houston, TX. Lee served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was engaged in the industrial, chemical, and marine sales his entire professional career. He was married to Merle Leefe Alexander, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, and who preceded him in death. He is survived by three sisters, Nancy Fagley of Sonoma, CA, Carolyn Caldwell and husband Tom of Houston, TX, and Frances Thomasson of Spring, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Lee was a good man, and a good neighbor, with numerous friends whom he loved and who loved him. Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government St., from 10:00 a.m. until a funeral service at 11:00. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
