Joan Chriss Venable

"I have finished my course; I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. A loving mother and resident of Greenwell Springs and a native of Plaquemine passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in Baton Rouge at age 64. Joan retired as a professional bookkeeper for Mr. D's Tree Service. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, April 10, 2015, starting at 6:00 pm with a service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Days United Methodist Church in Liverpool, LA., starting at 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am with interment to follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by daughters, Denise Kirschenhunter and husband Edward, and Pollyanna Venable; a son, Jim Venable and wife Darla Davis; sisters, Barbara Lindsey and husband John, and Ann Jarreau and husband "Tap"; brothers; Steve Christ and wife Brandy Freyoux, and Clarence Chriss and wife Peggy, 9 grandchildren; Paige, Jimmy, Kate, Heather, Chelsea, Eric, Rocky, Casey and Daniel; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way, Annna Kate, Heidi, Linus, Clara Grace, Jonas and Kinsley and extended family, Jamie Price, Rebecca Morrish and Abigail, Don and Kay Decell. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. "Papa" Venable, parents, Clarence and Sadie Morrel Chriss, brother, Greg Chriss and sister Maggie Guillot. Pallbearers will be; Devin Chriss, Morgan Chriss, Caleb Chriss, Rocky Kennedy, Ryan Venable and P J Baumy, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Kirschenhunter, Harry Guillot, Kenny Kwan, Chester Crawford and Paul Baumy, Sr.
