

Our dear, loving John Nathan passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his home. He was a student at Central High School, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a past graduate of St. Alphonsus Catholic School. He was also a member of St. Alphonsus Boy Scout Troop 322, a student of guitar under Stan Cambell and a NASCAR lover of car 48. He was a loving wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He was 14 years old, so special our Lord needed him in heaven to help his other angels. He never met a stranger and always shared his love with everyone he met. He is survived by his loving mother and father, Lisa and Frank Carmena Jr.; brother, Cody Carmena; grandparents, O'Neil and Odalie Babin, Sandra and Jim Griscom, Frank Carmena Sr. and Linda and Fred Goodspeed; aunts and uncle, DeeDee Roberts, Christy Parent, Angie Parent, Brad and Summer Theriot, Dane and Jessica Babin and Fred Goodspeed Jr.; great-grandparents and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his godfather, Mark Pourciau. The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who have been there for us during this very difficult time in our lives, especially the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office for its compassion. Pallbearers will be Cody Carmena, Dane Babin, Brad Pourciau, Brad Theriot, Scott Hood and Jordan Stahla. Honorary pallbearers are Troop 322 and friends. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, April 2, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Michael J. Moroney, celebrant. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
