John Lawrence "Johnny" Ducote

"A native of Cottonport and resident of Walker, Johnny passed away at home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at age 59. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday, Sept. 30, from 5:30 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church, 820 Front St., Cottonport, LA, from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at noon celebrated by Rev. Walter C. Ajaero. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. He is survived by four sisters, Beryl Robert and husband Norman, Marlene Ferrara, Martha Lachney, and Glenda Cypriano and husband Phil; sister-in-law, Shirley Ducote; sixteen nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence J. and Viola McDonald Ducote; brother, Nelson Ducote; brothers-in-law, Nick Ferrara and Gerald Lachney; and a nephew, Joseph Ducote. It is with great sadness that our precious brother left this world and went to Heaven. He was an amazing person who made this world a better place. He touched many lives in a special and Godly way. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
