John Blanton Edgar III, age 64, died in his home in Port Allen, LA, on May 3. He is survived by his son, John Blanton Edgar IV of San Marcos, Texas, his stepdaughter Amanda Stone Talley of New Orleans, and his sisters Mary Edgar Crichton of Nashville, TN, and Anne Frances Edgar of New York, NY. John was born in Memphis, TN, attended Christian Brothers High School and the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee. He earned his master's degree in landscape design at Louisiana State University, after which he lived and practiced landscape design throughout the region through his firm LA Landscape. Many landscapes throughout Baton Rouge carry his signature. He was much loved and will be sorely missed. Memorial services will be held in Baton Rouge, LA and in Memphis in the near future.
