John Thompson Meyer

John Thompson Meyer passed from this life of February 23,2025. John was born December 10, 1944 in Pasadena, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Raeann Meyer, his children, Meredith Vellion and her husband, Bernard and a son, Mason Meyer. His step children include Veronica Berry and her husband, Alfred and Steven Farkas II, eight grandchildren and six great-children along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother, Rich B. Meyer and his wife, Carolyn and a sister, Melinda Kilpatrick and her husband, Wade. John was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Marie Thompson Meyer and his father, Rich Bakke Meyer. John grew up in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1963 where he was an avid athlete on the swim team. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas in 1967 with a degree in chemistry. After college he joined the US Army and was stationed in Virginia. After the Army he worked for Dupont Chemical and Perkinelmer US a manufacturer of laboratory equipment. After retirement John remained a consultant for many years. To say John was avid golfer is an understatement! He was a member of the Country Club of Louisiana for many years and had many friends and golfing buddies. He also loved Karaoke and had a beautiful, infectious smile. John was much loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Country Club of Louisiana on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm in the main room.
