John Lane Seeser

John Lane Seeser, age 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA., passed away on April 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. John was born on August 2, 1942, in Baton Rouge, LA to Ethel Louise Hall and Paul C. Seeser.

He was married to Mary Josephine Denicola for 63 years. He served in the United States Air Force for four years and was stationed in Korea. He retired from the Baton Rouge City Police Department serving 30 years. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Josephine; his daughter, Tina Moore (Steve); his son, Jack Lane Seeser. Sisters, Susan Lipoma and Paula Pertuit (Jerry)

Brothers: Paul Seeser (Gwen), Donald Seeser (Patti), Jimmy Seeser (Melinda), Billy Seeser, and Danny Shaffett. Grandchildren, Blake (Amanda) Cason, Justin Bourgeois, Kyle (Afton) Matherne, Lacie (Chris) Prestridge, and Tyler (Kelbie) Moore. Great-Grandchildren, Caden and Mason Prestridge, Brendon and Breanna Bourgeois, Kennedy and Camp Moore, Rylen and Emery Matherne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Louise Scardina and John Charles Seeser, Sr., his daughter, Theresa Louise Seeser, and his brother, Charles “Chuckie” David Seeser.

Pall Bearers: Blake Cason, Tyler Moore, Kyle Matherne, Chris, Caden and Mason Prestridge, Justin and Brendon Bourgeois.

Visitation will be held at the St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, 5354 Plank Rd. on Monday April 14 11am-12pm with mass at 12pm. A military burial service will be held at Louisiana National Cemetery 303 W. Mount Pleasant Rd. Zachary, LA. following the service.
