John C. Thibodeaux Sr.

Mr. John Claude Thibodeaux, Sr., a resident of Prairieville, passed away at the age of 82 years old. Mr. John was born on September 8, 1942 in Plaisance, LA. to parents Alexander and Dorothy Thibodeaux. Mr. John enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, sailing, skiing, hiking, anything nature related and going to the grocery store. Mr. John is a graduate of Redemptorist High School in 1960 and retired from Ethyl Corp in Baton Rouge and Albemarle Corp in Houston after 31 years of service in 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Suzy Broussard Thibodeaux; children, John Claude Thibodeaux Jr., Randall Todd Thibodeaux (Dionne), Cindy Marie Thibodeaux, Tina Marie Thibodeaux Mroski (David), Jeffrey Gordon Roberts (Molly), Andrea Roberts Herrin (Paul); seventeen grandchildren, Jordan, Scotty, Koby, Shane, Rhett, Krystal, Rachel, Blane, Cooper, Parker, Katherine, Jack, Devin, Rachel, Taylor, Alex and Ella; eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and siblings, Ronald Gene Thibodeaux (Joel), Glenda Marie Thibodeaux and sister-in-law, Betty Nettles Thibodeaux. Preceded in death by parents, Alexander and Dorothy Vidrine Thibodeaux; first wife of 23 years, Barbara Digirolamo Thibodeaux; older brother, James Leander Thibodeaux and younger infant brother, Paul Terry Thibodeaux. The family will like to thank Sherry, Cindy, Barbara, Shontell and the gracious staff of Home Instead as well as Shantell, Raven, Kimberly, Donya, Jessica and the kind generous staff of Clarity Hospice. A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA., on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 10:00am until service time of 12:00pm.
