
A retired Exxon operator, he died Monday, June 20, 2011, at The Carpenter House. He was 90 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He was an U.S. Army Air Corps and Air Force veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean War. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, June 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Valentine; daughter, Mary Philomena Valentine; three sons, John Milton and Jessie, Charles Wayne and Judith, and Paul Randall Valentine; two sisters, Theresa and Paul Paline and Jeanette and Charlie Tabler; brother, Buck and Helen Valentine; grandchildren, John Travis, John-Colt, Jonathan and Andrew Valentine; two great-grandchildren, John Taylor and Jersi Jo Valentine. Preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Annie Valentine; daughter, Joan Valentine; sisters, Mamie Rice and Beatrice Brignac; and brothers, Jimmy, Vannie, Albert "Scooter," Irvin and Frank "Pedro" Valentine. Pallbearers will be Travis, Colt, Jonathan and Eddie Valentine, Jeff Comeaux and Jeff Hamilton.
